Just a reminder, our series of beginning Genealogy classes continues with this month's offerings: Searching the World's Records Without Leaving Omaha: a discussion of the genealogy collection that has been amassed by the LDS Church, the project to scan and index the 2.5 million reels of microfilm and make them available on line, and some of the extras that you can on their web site. The Name Game: a discussion of names, naming patterns and customs. We'll talk about surnames, and their development,and also discuss naming customs and nicknames for given names. It is presented by the Greater Omaha Genealogy Society and the Omaha Public Library, but we hold the classes at the Mormon Trail Center (lower level) because they have a larger space.
