Maybe someone can help me figure this out: For several years, I have been searching for informaton on CHARLES NELSON THOMPSON, birth date unknown - ca 1810 - 1840, death date believed to be between 1890 and 1895. I have checked out all the Charles Thompson's in St. Louis Mo and a few in NE and none match up. I don't have a marriage date for Charles and his wife EVA. I have searched everywhere, Eva lived in St. Louis, Mo and was there in the mid 1880's and was divorced from a previous husband. I think possibly, she was in Omaha shortly after 1885. She was born in 1854 and fudged on her age in everything I have found. I always thought if a woman was listed in the City directory as MRS, then she was probably a widow, but maybe not! I am basing the Omaha info. on the fact that Eva is listed in 1890/91 Business Directory for Omaha Nebraska State Gazetteer: Mrs. Eva C. Thompson, prop. Thompson Spa. 1021-1022 NYLIF bldg. Omaha Nebraska 1890 - Eva C. Thompson is listed as living at 1528 N. 19th in Omaha City Directory in 1890. No other family members appear. Eva is working at Festner Ptg. company as a folder in 1890. 1892 - Eva Thompson appears before Notory on May 15 1892 for her mother , who is living with her for Pension paperwork. Address Omaha, NE 1894 - Eva's Sister married in June 1894 in Omaha and Eva was there as Eva Thompson, witness. Charles Thompson was not the other witness June 1 1895 - EVa's mother (also from St. Louis) is still in Omaha NEB, probably living with Eva Aug 14 1895 - Pension papers are sent to the mother at: 1601 Olive St. St. Louis, Mo. which is also now the address of Mrs. Eva Thompson. Thereafter in the St. Louis directories, she is listed as Eva C. Thompson, widow of Charles N. Thompson. I just found a obit in the St. Louis post for a CHARLES N. THOMAS, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha Nebraska on April 6 1894 and was buried at Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery in St. Louis MO. Eva is not buried there. ( I lost her after 1905 - she may have remarried) I don't know if this is a coincidence with the names or if the Obit had the name spelled wrong, which I think would be unlikely. Of course there is no other information in this obit, only that he was 71, which meant it was born abt 1823, which would fit the time frame. Would any death record be available in Omaha or the State of NE for a death record for April 6 1894? Thanks Pat
