These papers are primarily on microfilm at the W. Dale Clark Library. Some are indexed, most are not. We have volunteers working on indexing obits, and a young man is helping extract obits for his Eagle project. Since about 1977, obits have been clipped from the Omaha World Herald. The library is hoping to put the index to the obits on line some time later this year. An asterisk will indicate that at least a part of it has an existing index, though NONE is totally indexed yet. We haven't got enough helpers. (Our policy has been that we'll take even one day out of a year rather than not have any of the names for the year--and there are 11 notebooks with names, and the card files full of names...a drop in the bucket? Maybe, but there's a lot of folks listed.) Instructions to extractors are to include anybody who had an Omaha area connection that might be in the paper (even if they had relatives listed as living in Omaha but they didn't...and within about an hour' drive of Omaha in any direction.) I put in ANY GAR soldiers, wherever I find them. Speaking of historical documents there is a paper show coming up in Omaha the first weekend of April (Saturday April 7th). Just thought some of you might like to know about it. There are quite a few dealers from the Omaha area that set up there.
