Author: jmfraser Surnames: Sheperd, Jacobson Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.nebraska.counties.douglas/4810/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Park Region Echo newspaper Alexandria, Minnesota Thurs. 3 July 1930 - pg. 1 Son of Chas. Sheperd Dies Friday Andrew Jacobson left last Tuesday for Omaha, Neb., where he was called by the serious illness of his little grandson, Chas. Sheperd III, who passed away on Friday after an illness of nine weeks resulting from a mastoid abcess. He was seven years of age and leaves besides his parents, one brother, Andrew J. Sheperd and one sister Virginia Mae. Funeral serices were held Monday. Mrs. Jacobson went to Omaha several weeks ago to be with her daughter, during his illness. His death was a great shock to his parents and other relatives. Their many friends here join in extending sincere sympathy to them in their bereavement. In the 1920 Minnesota census, (Douglas Co., Alexandria) there is a listing for a family of Andrew Jacobson age 48 born Minn. - Norway / Norway - with wife Alta-Mae age 42 born Minn. - N.Y./Ohio and their daug. M. Eleanor age 18 born Minn. - Minn./Minn. Believe this is the same family as mentioned in the obit, but do not know if M. Eleanor Jacobson was the daug. married to Charles Sheperd. Have no further info about this family. Hope this info will be of help to others. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
