    1. [NEDOUGLA] Just a reminder
    2. Monday is the last day to register for next Saturday's Genealogy Workshop (Oct 20) in Omaha to be held at Nebraska Methodist college. It's too late to mail a flyer out to anybody that's still interested, BUT you can download one at _www.gogsmembers.wordpress.com_ (http://www.gogsmembers.wordpress.com) There's also some information on other GOGS activities and plans, plus a link to 92,000 indexed obits from Omaha newspapers [www.Omahaobits.wordpress.com] (updated weekly, usually sometime on Saturday--not always on Saturday morning--and especially not on Saturday morning next week with the conference going on). Topids: Organizaing records (so that you can find those copies & documents you've spent the money on) Civil War Soldier research Writing the stories of our families Using Homestead Records (it's amazing how much family information is in some of them.) If you don't pre-register, you can still come, but it costs more to register at the door. Members of Greater Omaha Genealogy Society get a member discount either through the mail or at the door (plus a newsletter, ezine and other perks). Some join the Society JUST for the membership discount because the discounts on the two annual conferences saves them the cost of membership, making the rest free. The Nebraska Methodist College location is just off 90th & Dodge, lovely building with lots of free parking. The rooms are large, there are two camera sites that can flash the overheads so everybody can see them. Lunch facilities are near by, or we'll also have available a sloppy joe & salad or chips at lunch time for nominal fee, since there may be those who don't want to go out. We always have a bake sale, and there's a goodie bag for all registrants (even a free genealogy magazine for everybody in it.) Hope to see you all there. If you have more questions that the web site didn't answer, you can call: 706-1453 ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

    2. Joan
    3. Is there any chance that this meeting will be video taped? I would be willing to pay $15.00 for the tape. I work on Saturdays, so it is impossible for me to attend these conferences.
