Saturday morning, Feb 17, 9AM at the Mormon Trail Center multi purpose area on North State Street (top of the hill west from 30th in Florence) will be the second of this year's family history classes. The topic is Vital Records for the Vital Events of our Lives and Substitutes for Vital Records. These classes are sponsored by the Omaha Public Library and the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society. We're grateful to the folks at the Trail Center for letting us use their room because the largest class room in the library only holds fifty people. If you signed up last month, you are automatically signed up for this one, so if you find you can't come, please let us know so that we won't prepare the extra handouts for people that aren't coming. If you weren't able to make it last month, and want to come this month, please call us at 706-1453 or email: _Genclass@aol.com_ (mailto:Genclass@aol.com) to let us know that you are coming, or to ask any questions. The classes are free, but we want to have an idea how many are coming so we can get enough handouts made without having dozens left over. We will again have our offer available for new members, so that they can sign up for the Genealogy Society the rest of the fiscal year for half price. There should be time at the end of class for questions. We are working towards having a class at the library on entering data into Personal Ancestral File, which is a free genealogy program for those that don't have a genealogy program of their own yet...also one of the best ones. It is loaded on the two computers in the genealogy room, but you will need a small disk or a thumb drive to input your data and be able to take it home. We'll see you Saturday morning. (It's still too cold to do much else, so come be warm with us...and maybe you'll be like some others and find a new cousin at the class.) Karen
