For those who haven't bookmarked the G.O.G.S. obit web site, it's _www.omahaobits.wordpress.com_ (http://www.omahaobits.wordpress.com) . We went over 104,000 references this past week...and still have lots more to gather. I am grateful to two Eagle Scouts who made adding obits their Eagle project, because both projects added a lot of names so that we can all find more ancestors. The library will be open until about 3:30 on Christmas eve, and then not until Wednesday, so staff can have the day with their families. They opened late yesterday because of the weather. There are two new reader printers that will print microfilm to a USB/thumb drive, a CD or one of those little cards you put in your cameras (I forget what they're called, sorry.) It will also print to a piece of 8.5 x 11 piece of paper. No, the copies aren't free, and you'll need to bring your library card, OR your reciprocal library card, OR pay $2 for a 1 day guest card if you come to town to get your copies. These are fun machines. Many images can be cleaned up quite a bit, although they are often only as good as the original. There are options for getting copies if you don't live in the near area to be able to come in yourself. Karen In a message dated 12/12/2007 11:08:40 A.M. We have not been able to find any information on Gertrude's husband, Herman ANDERSON. Howard Julius ANDERSON was born in August 1914 in Omaha, Nebraska and died March 29, 2001 in Arkansas. Howard was one of 3 children...He had 2 sisters. Any help on my husband's great-grandparents would be greatly appreciated. > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
