    1. [NEDOUGLA] EVANS Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of William & Mortimer EVANS which was taken at the Petersen Studio in South Omaha, Nebraska. A note on the photograph of the photograph suggests that it was taken in 1891 or 1892 and the two boys appear to be 4-10 years old at the time. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. Hi Roberta, that would be the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. The depot in Omaha was known as the Burlington Station or Depot! It is still there but has been abandoned for years. There has been efforts to restore it but I don't know where that stands. You can find pictures of it with Google! rfs in omaha, ne On Sat, 18 Nov 2006 23:06:16 -0600 "Roberta" <turtle@restel.net> writes: > Hello List, > Wondering if anyone might know where I could locate information on > the former C.B.& Q Railway Passenger Depot in Omaha. 2. Carole Hammond
    3. The delayed birth certificate was probably to send to the Social Security Adm. when applying for Social Security Benefits. If it's the parents or place of birth that you are looking for you could also send to Social Security for a copy of the application using their SS-5 form. Social Security Administration OEO FOIA Workgroup 300 N. Green Street P.O. Box 33022 Baltimore, Maryland 21290-3022 Please send me a photocopy of the actual application for a Social Security card (Form SS-5--Social Security Number Record Third Party Request for Photocopy) filed by the person listed below. I obtained this information from the Social Security Death Master file at RootsWeb.com, Inc. who obtained it from the Social Security Death Master file, originally compiled by the Social Security Administration. My understanding is that the fee is $27, when the Social Security number is provided or $29 if the Social Security number is unknown or incorrect. Enclosed is a check or money order for $___________, made payable to the Social Security Administration. Thank you for your assistance. Their name Their Social Security number Birth: Death: Sincerely, Address: Daytime Phone Number: You can go to RootsWeb's Social Security Death Index, http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi?lastname=&firstname=&nt=exact to look up the subject's social security number if you don't have it. When you find it, there is a box on the right that you can click to get this form already printed out and needing only your name and address....and money. Good luck! Carole

    1. Re: [NEDOUGLA] Walter Brabham Combs
    2. Was the family Catholic? I have emailed a couple friends who have databases for Omaha area cemeteries & will check the ones that I have. Knowing the family's religion could narrow the search though...as there are several very large Catholic cemeteries in Douglas county, and for the most part, they don't have non-Catholics buried there. The non-sectarian cemeteries, however, may have people of any/all religions buried there. (Just trying to narrow the search a bit here.) Karen

    1. Re: [NEDOUGLA] Delayed Birth Certificate
    2. There are no records for births that recent at the library. You could probably get it by applying to either the county vital records or to state vital records. Be prepared that Nebraska is not nearly as generous with access to their records as some states that have the information posted on-line. Karen
