I have a correction to the surname of both Leta's--their last name should have a "s" at the end, as in HANS. Thanks for the response. Your charges seem kinda reasonable, however, my wife just got out of the hospital and i don't know how long it will be before I am able to reimburse you. I looked thru the message board listings to try to find your email address and was surprised that someone with 20 years experience wasn't posted more often. After the Civil War. some of my HANS ancestors lived in Wash. Co until 1885 then homesteaded to Dawes and Sioux Co near Crawford and Ft Robinson. After about 1900, most of my HANS relatives lived in Omaha (some near Ainsworth in Brown Co). Where do you live ? What area of research do you specialize in ? Please reply to my private email -- dadbrownfollowed by "underscore" (_), followed by 99, at yahoo.com (with no spaces). Douglas County had a Death Registry at that time and he may be listed there (not all deaths were). There is also the cemetery card file. I have access to all the above, including newspapers, and can check for you. There would be a $10 charge if I find something, no charge if I don't. This would include copy costs and postage. Just a reminder, our series of beginning Genealogy classes continues with this month's offerings: Searching the World's Records Without Leaving Omaha: a discussion of the genealogy collection that has been amassed by the LDS Church, the project to scan and index the 2.5 million reels of microfilm and make them available on line, and some of the extras that you can on their web site. The Name Game: a discussion of names, naming patterns and customs. We'll talk about surnames, and their development, and also discuss naming customs and nicknames for given names. It is presented by the Greater Omaha Genealogy Society and the Omaha Public Library, but we hold the classes at the Mormon Trail Center (lower level) because they have a larger space. Class starts at 9:00 AM and we will be out by noon. We request pre-registration so we know how many handouts to prepare. You can call 706-2453 or email _GenClass@aol.com_ (mailto:GenClass@aol.com) . No charge for the classes. Hope to see some of you there. **************Need a new ride? Check out the largest site for U.S. used car listings at AOL Autos. Daughter of John and Ann Brady Dawson of Omaha. Married to Timothy Phelps in 1879 at Holy Family Church in Omaha. Had a daughter Anna (Bohan?) and then died at my grandfather George Edward's birth January 1884 or shortly after. She is not listed at Forest Lawn as is Timothy's parents Oliver and Sarah Phelps. Nor can I find her in Prospect Hill where John and Anna Phelps are listed (aunt and uncle who raised George Edward upon Maggie's death) Timothy later married Helen Haudbine and he is buried in Blair Nebraska with second wife.
