Cohota, taken from the Republican, Valentine, Ne. Feb.17,1899. Mrs. E.D.Cohota(Anna Halstensen),who has been sick for the past four or five months, died February 13 at her home near Ft.Niobrara. Her funeral was preached Wednesday by Reverend J.M.Bates and her remains were laid to rest in the post cemetery. Deceased leaves a husband and several small children to mourn her death. (According to records in th Cherry County Historical Society Museum, Anna Halstensen married Edward Day Cohota in 1883 in the Episcopal Church, Fort Randall, South Dakota. Children listed were :Lucy, Edward, Elizabeth, William, Daisy and Miles.)
