Among the lists of the casualties was that of Frank SLAPNIKA as being among the missing, and is supposed to have been captured. This young man was born in this city, lived in south park, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben SLAPNIKA, and attended school here, and later was employed with the Lorenz Brothers, both as a driver of their delivery wagon, and also worked in the store and shop at their place of business. The family went to Omaha to live about ten years ago and from there he went to the army.
