Dear Butler Co. Listers, I notice on the IGI that there have been MANY babies named Napoleon. Did any of you have a Napoleon Smith who went by the nickname Ponie. We are now mulling over the idea that it could be a child's way of pronouncing Napoleon. Anything to find the ancestors. And I am still searching for his brother, Jett, whose birth name might have been Jedediah Smith. They were probably born sometime between 1815 and 1822, possibly in Ontario, Canada, or in Illinois or Iowa, but might have lived later in Nebraska. Since other branches of the family settled in Omaha, Butler Co. is a good guess. Thanks. VIRGINIA
