My husband's family, KOSKAN/DUSATKO were original settlers in the ABIE, NE area. We have quite a bit of Koskan information going backwards, thanks to another descendant and also thanks to a business colleague of my husband's in PRAGUE, CZ. He found some records for us and 2 years ago drove us to the hometown of the ancestors we knew about at the time. Saw the KOSKAN house and tried to make contact with a descendant. The last Koskan living in the old home had died. This town only had 9 homes and that is all they had back in 1870. Amazing. There are not very many of them. There seem to be two lines that were probably split at the time of the Reformation - one line Catholic and one line Calvinist. The spelling is KOSKAN, we think for the Calvinist line, and KOSTKAN for the Catholic, but not sure. Just hoping some of the Koskan or Dusatko descendants are out there. James Koskan, or Vaclav is the original man to Abie. Thanks, Jerilyn Lappin Koskan
