I see there is a discussion regarding schools in Butler County, NE. I have a photo of the Octavia School Building taken May 22, 1908. My great grandfather, Samuel MOHLER, was a janitor in the school for many years to supplement his farming. On another limb, I had a great aunt, Emma PARNELL who was a school teacher in the Edholm & Octavia area. She later married Benjamin WIGGENS. I have paperwork from yet another ancestor who lists teachers for the District No. 1 as Miss Turner, Miss Betus, Ed Van Fleet, George Colbank, Mr. William Fairbanks, and Miss Anna Hurt who married Jim Hutchinson. These teachers would have taught about 1885 to about 1895. I have NO other information regarding these individuals, so please don't ask for it. All I have is a list naming these people as teachers.
