Emmett, When I was in the Fort Wayne Library between Christmas and New Years, I did look at the "original microfilm" of Butler County NE, 1860 census. I recall that I had a dickens of a time finding the page number (page 95) that was in the index for "J. McCabe". It was at the end of a roll, out of place, if I remember correctly. HOWEVER, what I'm writing about is that the 27 people were at the end of the roll, on a page (95) by themselves. Since I found the individual for whom I was looking, J. McCabe, I paid little attention to other concerns at the time. It may be that the remaining part of Butler County for the 1860 census was earlier on the microfilm! Yet the census-transcribed portion contains only the 27 individuals. I've decided to send this to the entire Butler Co. list to ask others if they have found that the microfilmed1860 Federal Census for Butler County actually contains more than the 27 people?
