    2. Gail Kilgore
    3. Hi, Has anyone searched further or have any info on Evan Alexander Thomas [b. 1858 in PA]. He was the step son of William Kilgore and son of Annaline Garrett Anderson Thomas Kilgore? I have found him in Burlington, IA and in Ulysesses and David City, NE. He seemed to stay with and work with his half brothers but he has disappeared on me. Is he buried in the David City Cemetery with his mother and step father? Did he ever marry? He was around when Anneline applied for her Widow's Pension and he was around when she died [1918 in Raymond, NE], his sister married and moved back to PA but where did Evan go? 3. Dear Gail, Thank you for this message. It comes the closest, that I have seen for this list, to the intended purpose of the geographic area e-mail lists that have been sanctioned and supported by RootsWeb. The key [opperative] word is local geographic, not surname, etc. We all like to give our surnames but we are careful to keep it to that area defined in our purpose statement. Once contact has been made with 'cousins' from other areas, then those posts should be to the individual rather than the list. We realize that some folk post just to post their surnames in every corner of the world, however, I don't think those folk get the responses that those who are serious about their people in specific areas. Surnames traffic for surname sake should be relageted to surname lists. There are plenty of opportunity for this. RootsWeb, among other providers, will allow this for a Sponsorship. This is not a very expensive fee for such. 3. Hi Gang- Was talking with my grandmother Laura Edith Kilgore Manning this afternoon and was trying to get some more information from her. She jumped me and wanted to know why I didn't staaart this about 5 years ago when she remembered things. Ooooopppssss!!! Didn't mean to set her off but I think I calmed her down. Sunday is her birthday and most of the 9 children are home. I am taking notes of everything that she says. Today she told me that most of her family went to Oklahoma. So, if you know of any down that way let me know. And then again, Grandma is not doing well and we don't expect her to be with us much longer as her heart has stopped twice and they have brought her back. I love her dearly and she loves to hear what new finds I have found. Kim Tyson

In "A Biographical History of York County, PA" edited by John Gibson (page 164) it gives a biography of William Hollingsworth Kilgore, M.D. It lists his son 'John G. (deceased)'. I am not sure of the publication date as I have the reprint from GPC of 1975. Bill Hawkins

    3. Hi, I am on the Charles Co., MD list too, only because of that lead from that info that I purchased on William being the father of Thomas #1. Well, William couldn't be his father as William would have been about 82 when Thomas was born, but this reply at least tells me that there were Kilgours in Charles Co. and they could possibly be brothers to Thomas?????? Age of these too would determine a lot. Both names fit well into the lines given names. You know me the gears never stop turning. > Gail, > Nothing at all in that book.
