The Labor Contract was a promise to work 7 years for a mercantile owner to learn to run a general store. The Lutheran minister, Bach, by name in Flensburg sponsored him, which in our terms would be " go his bond" to see that he worked out his full 7 years or the Minister would be left "holding the debt". He went through apprentice, Journeyman, and Master Merchant "tickets". -------------------------------------------------------- Frederich Emmerich Ingwersen is buried in the Scandinavian Lutheran Cemetery. -------------------------------------------------------- Devorah Ingwerson Smith Oroville, California email devorah@mail2.quiknet.com
