Interesting to see how many definitions of the Sand Hills there are. I grew up in NE Nebraska: Tilden, in Madison Co. and thought we lived near the Sand Hills. I asked my parents who still live there and my Dad said "no, they're out around Ainsworth". Great website with maps and info. On the website, it referred to Halsey, NE, and I know thats where the National Forest is, but does anyone know who it was named after. Which Halsey ? I think I read it somewhere. My p.grandparents were both Halseys from VA.
