    2. Mary Myers
    3. Hi Audrey, I was born in 1938 at home on the Burris ranch. A ranch of 1839 acres that belonged to all of my Fathers brothers and sisters. 100 acres of the New Helena State Park was donated for the park by my Grandfather. The ranch was purchased from Harve Andrews in 1901. My Mother was Myrtle (Brown) Burris and was born and raised just south of New Helena on the way to Merna. She was born in a sod house and the house that is now standing is just north of where the sod house was. If my memory serves me right I think that your mother may have helped my Mother out when she needed some help maybe in the summer one year. I can remember her talking about Lucille Farritor. I of course knew the Knoells and the Christians very well. One year Harold Knoells two boys Doug and Don stayed with their grandparents Ed and Mary and went to New Helena School with us. The Frank Knoells were living in Phoenix when we moved to Arizona and we used to go and visit there real often. My Mother attended the school at Victoria Springs and we three also attended their. I think it was five of Daddy's brothers and sisters also attendedthe school at Victoria Springs. All 7 from my Mothers family attended school there. Both my Mother and Father are gone. I have lots of fond memories of Nebraska and it was never my choice to move to Arizona. I have lots of names and clippings from the Custer County Chief that my mother collected over the years. Sincerely, Mary M. in Arizona, USA researching Burris - Brown bigj@primenet.com Jack Franklin wrote: > Mary: I have no idea how old you are but my mother taught at the Victoria > Springs school in New Helen in about 1936.
