Looking for the centennial book for Antelope County and one for Madison Co. NE. Would the NE. Historical Society have copies? Is this where I would start? Would that be in Lincoln NE? Have found reference: "The 'War in the Elkhorn Valley' was one of the episodes that made things lively in those days. Mr. Benson and Mr. Rolbinson we believe still wear scars of that bloodless tumult." in the Jan 1, 1885 issue of the Burnett Blade. Did this really happen or only a play on something that happened between friends. These 2 were among the earliest settlers. W.S. BENSON is my gg-grandfather. Have lost his trail after being mentioned in the Burnett Blade in Jan. 1887. Trying to find where he died. Thanks Delores in Oregon.
