My grt grt uncle Edgar Beghtel was born in WABASH COUNTY INDIANA When his parents decided to go to IOWA cir. 1883, he was single and went with them. ( I was so glad when I discovered they had a young'un to go along.) He must have first gone to GUTHRIE COUNTY IOWA with them but then he married Hettie Stewart in WARREN COUNTY IOWA. It appears they settled in FURNAS COUNTY NEBRASKA and finally in RED WILLOW COUNTY where there appears to have been a lot of Stewarts. Hettie died cir. 1899 and he had a second wife. Two of his three sons left NEBRASKA and went to CALIFORNIA. Thanks to the Nebraska Web for helping me find this history of Edgar, the last of that generation of our family who was still an 'orphan'. Now we know what happened to them all! Our NEBRASKA connection took a while but was probably the most exciting as it was the last child to locate. We wonder if his third son, CHANNIE BEGHTEL might still have descendants in NEBRASKA. EDGAR BEGHTEL lived in the southwestern corner of the state long enough that it seems there should be something more about his life written in a history of the area. Jane
