Hello all! New subscriber to the list. My grandfather, William R. CLINE, was born in Knox Co., Nebraska in 1886. His father was Charles N. & Sarah E. Cline. I have them located on an 1885 census in Creighton & Central Precinct. They have as their children: Lillie (7); Fred (4); Mary (3) & Viola (1). Charles was a farmer raising hogs & chickens. According to family history, William was elected sheriff of Dickenson County. This would have been about 1908-10. He married Betty Brown & they lived in Oliver County, according to the 1910 census. On the 1900 census for Knox Co., Cleveland Twsp I have located William's brother, Fred. I could not locate the rest of the family. I am trying to determine if Charles & Sarah continued to live in NE, perhaps being buried in the Knox Co. area. Also am interested to know if William was, indeed, sheriff of Dickenson Co. Would appreciate any help from people familiar with this area & time period. If there is a family link, I have much info to share from William forward. Thanks for any help. Beth Rutherford Oregon
