    3. > >I ran across this book in my local library today BOSS COWMAN "The Recollections of Ed Lemmon 1857-1946" pub. by the University of Nebraska Press. I was interested because I have been researching my Lemmon Family in Nebraska and was curious if there is any connection. > >Ed Lemmon, according to the National Livestock Association held the world's record for saddle handling more cattle (over one million head) in his lifetime than any other man. He is also the namesake of Lemmon, SD, and is said to have covered virtually every foot of the range in western SD and parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska. I would be very interested if anyone has any genealogical information or is a relative of Ed Lemmon. > >The following is the information I gleaned from the book: > >His parents were James H. They had the following children: > >1. Hervey Lemmon b. 1847 on way to OR near the Platte River (possibly in MO or NE) >2. Ed Lemmon b. 5-23-1857 in UT >3. Moroni Lemmon >5. Alpharetta Lemmon > >2.
