Even tho I was raised in Minnesota, most of these statements reminded me of my youth and I still love doing most of them much to my neighbors dismay. Knee-deep in snow? The writer must of been talking of one of the milder winters. A couple things Marilyn forgot to mention are: You know the electrical cord in the grill, doesn't mean the car runs on batteries. You're put to work in the field when you're old enough to turn a steering wheel. You have enough food in the freezer to last a year. You have enough fuel oil to heat your home for a year. You know the 4 H's stand for; Health, Head, Heart and Hands. You know Supper is the evening meal. You have brought a new born animal in your home on a winter night to nurse it. You refer to people's farms when giving directions. >...you are walking knee-deep in snow. >...you leave your snow tires n year-round.
