My ggr grandfather James Wilson Nickelson, his wife Margaret E. Koons/Coons and their family settled in Elk Creek about 1864 as guessed from the obituary of his son James Augustus Nickelson (1939, Table Rock Argus, Table Rock, NE) Search focus at this time: Looking for information pertaining to M.A. TIBBETS. She and James W. Nickelson are both buried in Mt Zion Cemetery- 7 miles east of Elk Creek. It is presumed, by myself and other family researchers, that MA is Mary Ann (Nicholson) who married Richmond Tibbets in IN. There is a dau. also buried there.
