    3. I recently poured through all that data on the NE gen web page and Seward County pages. I got lot of good info on my surnname Whitnah, including references to a "Whitnah & Bros general store" and an E.C. Whitnah in the farmer's gazetteer (BTW, what is a "Gazetteer"?). My Whitnahs lived in Utica in the 1890's and must have moved to Beaver Creek by 1900, where my gramps and his bros and sister are listed as being born. He, in Utica. I would like to find earlier references of Whitnahs, there, and more information on the general store in Utica, which apparently existed in 1890, and, it seems that his dad (Charles) must have had a brother or two around there - i.e., E.C. Whitnah (unles that was a woman, its possible, Carrell's sister was named "Evelyn" and the family does pick names of recent other relatives to pass along, especially female maiden names and first names, to preserve their lineage, as my mom carried "Evelyn" after her aunt, above, as a middle name, and my uncle has "Cary" as a middlle name to remember his mom's father's name, "Cary Pope". My goodness. I was just handed an email that told me that Charles, my grandpa's dad, well, HIS dad (grandpa's grand-dad) was named "Eli" Whitnah. I guess that's the E.C. Whitnah, farmer, in the gazetteer. I sure would like to peruse any other Seward county references from 1870 through 1950, as some of my family has been around all that time, and might even still be. Also, Lincoln is in Lancaster county? My grandmother came back from Burma to give birth to my Aunt Margaret in 1924 in Lincoln NE, and then had my mom back in Burma, 1926, and I am guessing she stayed with family in Lincoln. I am looking, therefore, for Whitnahs in Lincoln, NE, around 1920-1930, unless they all came back for a spell and went to Burma again, and therefore I might find "Carrell and Mildred Whitnah" in Lincoln at that time. Any resources or newspapers or church gossip would be great... Cheryl
