Hello, My query about DARLING in NE was very productive. Ken Nelson who has helped me another time, offered a biography of Frank DARLING. I don't know if I'll get a hard copy or what but I'll send it to anybody that wants it, once I have it. And two new DARLING researchers were located, Lloyd and Gail. With the two I found in Nov. -- Rosa and Ralph, -- there are now five of Denice Darlings decedents looking for information. At least three of these, -- my wife Darla, Rosa's husband Gary, and Ralph Darling of Texas are decended from Levi Lincoln Darling. I think he was the one who moved to Nebraska. Levi Lincoln had four sons. One of them, William, married Nellie CLOUGH and moved to Jackson Co., OR. Ralph and Darla are from that line. Below is what Rosa wrote about a picture my wife sent her. In a message dated 12/3/98 11:36:32 AM Pacific Standard Time, Rosawe writes: << I wanted to let Grant and Darla know that the photo they sent was sent to our Aunt Evalyn (Frank L Darling's youngest child) and she said it was the four Darling brothers, Charles, Orville, Frank and William. She said William moved before she was old enough to remember him but she remembers Uncle Charley and Uncle Orv. She has one of the original photos in her attic somewhere. So, thank you Darla for the picture. We are very happy to have it because we had no pictures of Grandpa Darling. This is surely a treasure to us. She said Uncle Charley moved to CA after his first wife died. He buried her in the Lyons Cemetery and put a big beautiful stone up that said "Darling" (no other name). When Evalyn's oldest brother Paul's wife was sick he wrote Uncle Charley's children and asked if he could buy the lots from them as they had buried Uncle Charley in CA and he didn't figure they would be using the lots. They sent him the deed and said he could have them. That was very nice of them. Uncle Paul and his wife are buried there. We are planning to take our trailer to NE next spring and spend some time looking around. I hope Aunt Evalyn is still able to show us around. We want to visit the cememteries and the historical museum at Tekemah. I hope we find some good history. >> It seemed eaiser to just quote her rather than rewrite what Rosa had already said. She is on vacation in Florida until March. However, I have a genealogy she sent that traces Levi Lincoln DARLING back to Denice (Dennis) DARLING. I understand Ralph has a copy of that genealogy too. There is another Darling, Kenneth, alive at age 85 in Ashland, OR. So if you see your ancestor listed above let me know. If you don't see one that is also important. How do Gail and Lloyd fit into the Darling lineage? I've added you all to my address book under DARLING and will CC or forward items of interest. If you want to be excluded from the list let me know.
