Dear Mona, IMHO, I REALLY appreciate your work on all these bios. When, I see bios or wills or estates, anyone's, I automatically file them, to preserve them for GenWeb, if the transcriber agrees. OTOH, if you haven't done so already, you may wish to approach GenWeb for Pottawattamie County, IA, to see if they want to list them on their GenWeb, site. You mentioned that the Millers are collecting them for Nebraska GenWeb. At the moment, I am extremely busy transcribing probates for GenWeb, elsewhere. And have some here that need to be done for Frontier Co., NE. So, I'm extremely busy. I checked to see if Pottawattamie Co. is up and running, and at what stage of development, namely, if they are ready for bios. They most definitely are. Although the bios have not been posted. They indeed have a section for bios, and many persons are already listed. They are sending copies of the bios to people that request them. They may already have the book, but don't have resources to type them, as you've already done. However, I checked for the names you posted, and your names were not among them. So, they may very well want them. Pottawattamie, may serve as the best place for descendants to connect with their family. They may not think to look in NE. Just as in NE, different counties, if they yet have a host for them, are each at various stages of development, hence why at one site, bios are posted, and another, they are only listed. At least, they are there. You may wish to send these yourself to them. Or, if you want, I can forward these to them, after ascertaining if they want them, not an unlikely scenario. Of course, in any case, credit should be given to the source, as well as you for submitting them. I have the case of ancestors that lived in both Essex Co. Mass., and Nantucket, MA. I had posted the estate for one person and his wife for Essex. However, he was also one of the original purchasers of Nantucket, and many descendants would be looking there for him. For a less sought out individual, I might have just given the link. But, since he was one original proprietors, and many descended through his Nantucket lines, I posted the estates for him at both places, as many of his Nantucket lines may never think to look for him in Essex. The Millers may suggest a link from Pottawattamie to NE, or if not, The person to contact for bios for Pottawattamie is Marsha Pilger. She can be contacted at <geniebuff1@novia.net>. Just my thoughts, the different GenWeb hosts, each may do something a little differently, depending on the circumstances. However, they each do it, is not so important. The main point is they are doing it, for which we are thankful. And, if we are not able to be a host, we can each do our part, depending on our resources, just as you are doing.
