I have the 1883 homestead proof of my ggf's homestead in Sherman County, NE. He and both witnesses state that their post office address in Sherman County is either FARRIS or PARRIS. The County Judge wrote all three documents, so there is no chance of testing differences in handwriting. Can anyone tell me what the name actually is, and any information about exactly where it was? The homestead was in Section 28. I know for a fact that one of the witnesses lived next to him in the same section. Thanks. John Fiala
