Your interest in the old ledger that our family has encouraged me to do a bit more searching on the web. Rootsweb.com has a Nebraska business directory on line that was published in 1890. Looking through Nemaha county cities I found Nemaha City was included. Guess what business was identified in that directory?! None other than the Aynes Bros. hardware, furniture, implts - so now we know the store the ledger pertains to, and I have a much better idea of where Norman's greatgrandfather, William Aynes was living in 1890, and we know that he and his brother Andrew, ran this business. I was never certain before which line the ledger belonged to. :) Tempe Berggren
