As time runs short for the savings with early registration for the genealogy conference April 30 & May 1, we got talking about the door prizes at the planning meeting as we stuffed bags for the attendees. Jeff Kappeler, representing the Nebaska Humanities Council, will be presenting stories of immigrants who settled Nebraska, and the experiences that they had in coming. The presentation includes packing an actual immigrant chest & other essential baggage needed by the immigrant. Karen Keehr will be doing a presentation on caring for the artifacts of the 19th Century. FRIDAY EVENING: There is an open house/reception at the W. Dale Clark Library with an opportunity to explore the genealogy resources (census and books and whatever else is on 3rd floor, plus refreshments) open only to conference attendees. There will be volunteers to help with the research questions in locating resources that we have. If you can't attend BOTH days, you can attend just one.
