I have found that many Nebraska counties have sent their pre-1904 birth and death records, and their pre-1909 marriage records to "The State". However, county officials don't seem to be able to say where that is, or if they are accessible "somewhere". Their recollection is just that "The State" required they be sent in. I have the genealogy brochure published by the NSHS with the description of what they have, which in the case of birth and death records appears to be pretty limited. Has anyone on this list actually written somewhere (other than a county courthouse office) for a pre-1904 birth or death record, or a pre-1909 marriage record and been successful? If so, where did you write? Please furnish the particulars of place, process, cost, etc. Thank you! John Fiala
