I received the following films today and will be taking them down. They should be available for actual use some time next week after they get checked in & labeled. The green census-holding sheets that Lynn makes up are quite outdated, but they won't be making new ones until sometime near the first of the year. Budget constraints mean they have to cut back on some of the things they do. All of 1900 Alaska (leaves only 3 reels of 1910 to be complete through 1920) All of 1900 Hawaii (first Hawaiian reels, means all fifty states are finally represented in the collection)--brings the number of complete states through 1900 up to 22 when all of the ordered films get in. :) T624 1254 Haskell etc. OK T 624 164 Liberty etc FL T 624 806 Pulaski etc MO T 624 807 Randolph MO T624 Columbia etc WA T 625 1462 Haskell OK T 625 225 Liberty etc FL T625 1922 Columbia WA T9 Coffey etc. TN T9 1860 Hawkins etc TN T9 Angelina etc TX T9 Dawson etc. TX T9 1318 McClennan etc TX See you at the library. Karen PS If you're curious about what's on order: all of 1900 MO will be complete, NE, ND, & SD will have 1930 coming after April of 2002 (don't plan on it being there early in April, takes time to get the copies made & sent, but they ARE coming), more AR 1900, more TN 1880, all of 1890 DC & MD (these are Union veterans & widows schedules only.) We're still looking for funds for 1870 through 1920, plus for 1930 pre-orders. We can get 1930 pre-ordered for $13.95 until about mid-March, then the price goes up. The collection continues to grow, despite recession, despite price increases. It just grows slower. All help is appreciated, and we're all finding more ancestors. We're applying for help in purchasing naturalization films for Douglas county...a substantial collection of film, though not as big as the census collection.
