Hi All, One of my friends has done a magnificient addition for the Memorial Library. "Some Notes on Nebraska Birds. A list of the species and subspecies found in the state with notes on their distribution, food-habits, etc. by Lawrence Bruner, 1896. I am sooooooooooooooo glad it was her typing all those Latin names with the funny spellings. <g> I got through the first letter and my eyes had crossed. This book by Lawrence Bruner was published in 1896 and is the description and in many cases the image of the Birds of Nebraska. Some gorgeous images, some wierd looking birds too.... Speaking of an "unusual" bird included in the index those of you who are interested in Nebraska Research will want to be sure to double check an error of omission that we felt as transcribers should not have been left out when the book was originally published. So some of our ornithological experts in the NEGenWeb Group have gratiously done the research and found rare depicitions of said missing bird so that it might not be ignored in this new on line version of the Birds of Nebraska. I would check under the letter E if you are unsure as to where to find the newest addition. If you are also interested in doing ressearch in the state of Nebraska I would recommend that you use the link provided from that page as there is no better place for NE research anywhere on the net IMHO. My many thanks to Lynn and the numerous folk who have helped to correct this previous error <g> and to the tons of hours that it took Lynn to do all of the scanning and transcription, she is truly a dedicated information specialist.
