The next beginning genealogy class offered by the Greater Omaha Genealogy Society and the W. Dale Clark Library will be February 21. The topic will be Vital Information from Vital Records (what you can expect, or hope, to find in them) and Substitutes for Vital Records, for those times when vital records weren't kept. The free class will be held at the Mormon Trail Center, since we outgrew the largest classroom at the library. Time is 9:00 AM to Noon. Classes are free, but we ask that people pre-register so that we know how many are coming. (We've had over 100 at times, and would hate to plan for only 50 handouts.) Pre registrations are through Genclass@aol.com, or 706-1453, or 344-2887. If you live within driving distance, get a bunch of friends and come together. Then have lunch and spend the rest of the day at the downtown library, doing research. Hopefully the weather will be decent that weekend (last year we got snowed out and had to do a makeup session...and hope it doesn't happen again this year.) March's class will be on the census and milking it for every clue you can find. Karen
