I just returned from the Land Records Symposium sponsored this week by Homestead National Monument and Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska. What a wealth of information was shared! I wish each and every one of you could have been there, especially if you have an ancestor who was a homesteader. People came from all over the country to talk about and to learn about the Homesteading Act Land Records. These records are an invaluable genealogical resource, and knowing how to use them and what to look for is an invaluable skill.
