Need missing date of death. Regarding needing the exact date of death of a person. Since I didn't see the Obit can't be sure what it said or how it stated it. Sometimes there are two similar pieces in a newspaper. One is the"Paid Obit" and the other would be a "Death Notice" that the paper sometimes put in for a person at no charge to anyone. Maybe the person is well known in the community or has lived there a long time, etc. There are lots of reasons when and if newspapers put these in and it sometimes has to do with "Space Available" meaning that on a busy news day they will and do omit them. On a light news day they may put in several days worth. If it doesn't state the exact date sometimes they say something to the effect of the person died on Monday (or yesterday). Since you have the date that the Obit was in the paper it's simple to figure from that. However if worse comes to worse and the Obit is of no help you could write or call the Listed Funeral Home and ask them to send you the correct date of death. After all the newspaper only prints what is given to them by the concerned party. Usually this is the funeral home as most newspapers decline to take this information from a private party without them showing a copy of the death certificates (the reason being is that deaths have been reported and the person is alive and well and usually very angry). Hope this answers some of your concerns, Gretchen
