Hello: We have recently been going through computer prints of over 100 negatives from my grandfather's post-card camera. These photos were taken, we believe, from about 1910 to about 1917. Two of the pictures are of a frame church with a small windows above the front door. Above the small window is a small sign that reads "Salem Church". In the photos there is what appears to be either a platform or a foundation alongside the building. One person looking at the photo felt that the church building was to soon be moved over onto that base. My first thought was that it might be an early photo of the Salem Church (Eval. Luth., now UCC), which is a couple of miles west of Steinauer, Nebr. Because there is a car in one of the pictures, the person mentioned above averred that the church in the photo could not be the one near Steinauer. The early Salem Church outside Steinauer had been replaced by a different looking building before autos had appeared in that part of Nebr. In addition to taking photos of relatives (and friends) in the Humboldt and Pawnee city areas, my grandfather had traveled out to Red Cloud to visit cousins there. The question now is, is it possible that there were other Salem Church's is southern Nebraska? Is anyone on this list aware of any Salem Church's currently in other locations, or even of such named churches that formerly existed in this region? Thanking you for your help. Hubert Paulson
