    3. Hi All, Well finally I get to announce a book I have completed for your pleasure and research needs, along with several that have been completed by my friends who have done again awesome transcriptions that may help you in your history tracking. I had hoped to get this done earlier but with the knee surgery last week and it was waaaaaay more painful than I expected, I have told my ortho surgeon that until the right knee is literally falling off I am not going to "fix" it...think this was a close 2nd to the back surgery last December....I have also sent this post to a few extra lists because of the names I saw in the index, and if you think of another list that it should go to please pass it on. If it is a duplicate, please delete. Pam Rietsch Nebraska Navy State Summary of World War II Casualties http://www.livgenmi.com/1946NENavyWarCasualtiesTitle.htm This was an interesting book to transcribe if only because my father was so involved with the Navy in WWII. So sad to see the long lists of those who died and those thousands who were injured in that campaign, and while there is almost 3000 names in the all name index, this was just one state and only one branch of the service. Each section is split into separate pages so you can click on whatever might interest you. The nice thing about this is for every soldier there is a next of kin listed, whether it be a spouse or parents or sibling and their address. The Nebraska Aborigines as They Appeared in the Eighteenth Century http://www.rootsweb.com/~neresour/OLLibrary/neab/index.htm Another great transcription by Ted & Carole Miller. Published 1913 by NE Academy of Sciences. Booklet - reporting on any/all documents known in 1913, related to American Indians in NE, & dated prior to the Lewis & Clark expedition. Focus seems to be determination of tribal names & locations. Every name index. There are some great old maps in this book. NOTE: The large map (center button on last page) takes over 1 min. to load. Efter Fyrtio Ar http://www.rootsweb.com/~neethnic/swede/efter.html >From Connie Snyder, the State Coordinator of NEGenWeb, "The title is  "Efter Fyrtio Ar" and Ted Miller has scanned in all the pages from the book for us. The only problem is that it is almost entirely in Swedish and none of us has a clue about how to translate it. It is apparently a history of an area of Kearney County, Nebraska. We could use someone who could translate the text for us from the scanned images and then we can post the book in an English text/html version. This book also has 15 pages of sheet music. Do any of you have the ability and capability to make a midi for us? If you would like to volunteer, please contact me. [email protected] Nebraska Alumnus - June 1925 (one issue) http://www.rootsweb.com/~neresour/OLLibrary/Journals/alumnus/na25/index.htm Another addition by Ted & Carole Miller, getting depressed they are sooooo far ahead of me in book transcription, but then it is better for you all...<g> Booklet includes notes from assorted classes. Section of marriages, births & deaths; ten bios of prominent graduates; survey results (own a Hupmobile?); (Pam note...a brand of car of the time) summary of the school year. Reports on athletic activity, changes in staff, condition of buildings, Ivy Day, graduation address, etc. Terrific amount of genealogical information on about 45 pages. Every name index added - column was 17 pages long until formatted for the web page. Don't know where Pam Rietsch found this one - hope everybody will dig around and find more NE Alumnus! This particular issue is Volume XXI, no 6. Looks like they produced 10 issues per year. We'd be delighted to post more copies. Please let us know if anything doesn't load, isn't properly linked.
