Hi Esnuffy, According to http://www.wathenadesigns.com/Lincoln/cemetery_records.html the Lincoln County Cemetery is 12 miles South and 3 miles West of Sutherland. Sutherland is about 230 miles west of Columbus. For directions, I'd suggest you use Mapquest.com or expedia.com or other similar on-line maps. Good luck! Looking for descendants of John Alexander PORTER and Sophia Eliza OYLER. They came from Illinois to Nebraska before 1882 and settled in Saline County. They had 10 children, two boys and 8 girls. One boy died before reaching the age of two. The remaining children were Dora Agnes who married William SIMMONS, Ida Bell who married William RICE, Harriet Elizabeth who married Gilbert STONE, James CONLEY and George KNOPPS, John Williamson who married Lida Frances ASKEY, Elsie May who married William BELL, Leora Nell who married Claude Lysle WRIGHT, Edith Myrtle who never married, Lulu Pearl who married Warren DEUEL and Alpha Sophia who married Lawrence BRUCKER. John Williamson was a State Assemblyman for 3 terms around 1930. He and Lida had 3 girls, Vivian, Thelma and Doris. I don't know who they married. Most of the family stayed in Nebraska for quite a while. The DEUELs went to Wyoming, the WRIGHTs went to Florida and the BELLs ended up in California. I was given a small suitcase full of pictures of many members of these families and can make copies available. I have identified some of them as being the WRIGHT family and the John W. PORTER family. I'm still trying to identify the rest. If anyone is a descendant, knows any descendants or knows people who might be able to help in the identification of the photos, please contact me at tvlwrtr@aol.com. Pat Parish
