    1. [NEBRRoots-L] Powell family in Dawson County & North Platte
    2. gayle
    3. Seeking the descendants of Charles Henry and Nellie Larkin Powell of Dawson Co NE. There were two sons, their names seem to change in the census but I believe theyw ere William and Lutehr, yet Luther could have been Morgan Luther or Lewis Melvin. A 1944 obituary for Lewis Melvin said he was married to Mary E. Speck. In 1930 William was living at North Platte. I have photographs of these two young men, with their cousins. I would like to find their descendants. gayle1@kansas.net

Tillie Darling married Frank Weaver, son >>of Archie and Nellie (Davis) Weaver of Burt Co. in 1920. Hello, I'm looking for Darlings, too. In fact, they had ties to Burt Co. but we are not sure what those ties are. We don't know where they lived because there were 3 towns named Willowdale. Below is a query I wrote a few months back. : Looking for information about William E. DARLING and Esther (Nellie) CLOUGH. William was born Feb 4, 1850 in Maine. Nellie CLOUGH in born June 4, 1853 in N.Y. They married ca 1872, probably in Nebraska. They lived in Williwdale but there were 3 Willowdale's, in Antelope, Nemaha, and Pierce Co. A picture of the couple was taken in Lyons, NE and a cousin Anna Stanton, lived in Golden Spring. Lyons and Golden Spring are in Burt Co. and there are other DARLING and CLOGH families in Burt Co. They had 4 children, Herbert, b. May 1874, Ralph b. March 1876, Carl, b. Nov. 1887. and Leslie, b. Jan. 1883. If you have any additional info please let me know. Grant Chico, CA I got the response below. Subj: Re: darling -- clough Neb 1880 Date: 8/13/98 3:12:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: knelson@mail1.nai.net (Ken Nelson) To: GWJCAL@AOL.COM according to the 1884 atlas of Burt County, there was a William Clough living at Golden Spring as a farmer in that year or at least when the data was collected. 2. Hello List, we are new to the list and need your help in locating information about my great grandfather, WILLIAM B GREGG. He was born in 1842, maybe in IN. About 1872 he moved to Decatur, Burt Co, NE with his wife MATILDA (TILLIE) ALBRIGHT GREGG and their only child, two year old FLORENCE. He was a physician in Decatur for many years. He died in 1922, Tillie in 1923. They are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur. Florence Gregg married Frank Darling in Burt Co in 1887. They had 8 children, one being my mother Tillie Darling. Tillie Darling married Frank Weaver, son of Archie and Nellie (Davis) Weaver of Burt Co. in 1920. Any information on any of these families would be gratefully received. Among the names we are researching are WEAVER, DARLING, GREGG, ALBRIGHT, DAVIS and DEWITT. We have some information to share and will gladly do so. Thanks, Gary and Rosa Weaver

    2. Hi! I'm originally from Howells which is in Colfax County. There are several Semerads that live there and I went to school with Lois Semerad. I have emailed another classmate that lives in the same town to call her and give her the message. You might want to check out the Howells website and maybe you'll find more there. 2. Progress Report: The second message re Nebraska City cemeteries has been answered now. I sent him an offer to look in the files, I believe he will want the Wyuka one which is so huge it doesn't always come up on the Otoe page. I am in the process of cutting it up into subfiles so it will be more usable. There are other cemeteries, some posted, some not available right now. I understand some records were furnished by mortuaries, rather than read by local societies.
