    2. Anderson
    3. Hello - The "Blue Book of Nebraska Women" (1916), as transcribed by Charmaine Keith, is being added to the USGenWeb Nebraska Archives. The book includes biographies of women from all around Nebraska during that time frame. We currently have the index and the first 50 pages available through http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ne/state/stapubli.htm#blue or ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ne/state/publications/bluebook/ During the last several weeks, we've also added files for Dodge, Pawnee, Platte, Richardson, and Cuming Counties. We hope you'll stop by the Archives to find helpful resources and to contribute to the efforts. We're at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ne/state/statable.htm FTP access is available at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ne/ Wendy Wendy J. 1. [NEBRRoots-L] Groff in NE-forwarded
    2. Barbara Archer
    3. I found this message on the BRETHREN list and thought I should send it along to this list. Could somebody please help Gail find her Groffs? Incidentally, when I was growing up in Lincoln, a Groff was our veterinarian. I am sure he retired long ago, but there may still be Groff listings in the book. Barbara I am interested in finding more about Elizabeth GROFF born July 31, 1845 in Lancaster County, PA. She married Samuel W. Mohler (Born July 4, 1850) on January 11, 1874. They stayed in the area for some time and had most of their children there. They moved to Nebraska where the most of the children grew up. Elizabeth and Samuel were Dunkards and German was their primary language. Elizabeth died May 17, 1935 in NE, Samuel died December 4, 1943 in NE. Interested in trying to find others researching the GROFFs. Thanks, Gail Holdeman gaile@sherbtel.net

    3. Since Platte county is near enough and since I'm just getting started and have had little success so far in tracking Christensen roots, here is a copy of my query to the Saunder County Gen-Web site: CHRISTENSEN. Mads - is, I believe, my father's father's name. They lived near Ceresco, where my father Louis was born in 1904. He had a brother named Chris and a sister named Volborg (later Hanson). There were other siblings, including a brother that drowned. Louis was the youngest. Chris was in Saunders county in the '70s and Volborg was in Lincoln until then also. I was born in Norfolk, NE in 1947 and my mother was Yvonne Peterson from Gretna, NE. My parents met at Linoma Beach! Since my parents were in their late 30s/early 40s when they first had children (and they both were youngest siblings), our family ties were stretched quite a bit and they were dead before my sister and I started taking an interest. The only ties I know of are first cousins, a Mrs. Nelson living in Lincoln and her sister Mrs. Roblyer living in Oregon, and they are apparently not tracking geneology. Some information suggests that grandparents may have been born in Ruskin area. My dad Louis was a John Deere tractor dealer in Iowa during the '30s. He died doing same in Lamar, CO. Dale, does any of this compute? Louis Kent Christensen Albuquerque, NM

I wanted to have a little fun with this one, too; as I have inherited old family letters, and, at least granduncle Will wrote legibly. Much of this is his spelling. 3. Hello, I am looking for information about my g.g. grandfather Clarence F. Scott. His wife's name was Emma Matthews. My g. grandfather Charles Earl Scott was born around 1885 in Lincoln, NE so they must have been living in that area at that time. Besides my g. grandfather Charles Earl Scott, there was also another son named Ralph and three daughters. I would guess that Clarence Scott was born sometime around 1860, but that is a guess. There may be an obituary for Clarence in the Lincoln, NE area. I wish to find out any information such as parents, where he was born, etc. Thanks for the help. Mark S. Ellis R.T. 1. [NEBRRoots-L] An Iowa List?
    2. Unfortunately, Earl, Iowa is a bit more restrictive in the availability of their lists. There is an IAGEN-L, however, it's restricted to volunteers and county coordinators. For any sharing of information, or queries, they prefer you use their county web pages and archives on-line. I own a few books and other data about western Iowa genealogy, so if there is anything that I can help you with, just e-mail me directly......particularly if it pertains to Pottawattamie County, or to Harrison County. Regards, Mona
