    3. Can someone help me find whether my grandparents married in Washington County, NE? I want documentation of the marriage of Peter Petersen and Fannie Bowman. I believe they were married August 19, 1908. Both were residents of Stanton Co, NE, but there is no evidence that they got a marriage license in Stanton, Madison or Colfax Counties. Since Peter had moved from Blair, NE, in 1896, I suspect they may have gone there to be married. Can someone check Washington Co records to me to see whether they were married there? If these marriage records are available on microfilm, I want to scan those to check for marriages of anybody with the name Petersen, or Topp. Many thanks for your help. mflory@compuserve.com

    3. First of all, they folks making copies for $10-15 per copy aren't doing much more than censuses. And secondly, NSHS wants to make some money so they can keep in business. It doesn't take that much ($42.) to make a copy of a reel of microfilm, even figuring in labor costs. Karen

I would be ever so grateful if any of you with Custer Co. information, like birth records or census records, could take a look for him.     3. Hi All! I'm new to reseraching in Nebraska, and had a few questions. Is there a marraige index for the late 1800/early 1900's? Also, is there a death/birth index? I'm researching Henry Rethmeier. He lived in Minden Nebraska. He was born and raised in Barrington, Cook County IL. Can anyone tell me in Minden still exists? Sorry for all the questions, but I just 'found' this branch and was surprised that someone moved so far from home!     3. This is just to let genealogists in the Omaha area that we now have access to Ancestry.com in the genealogy book room on the genealogy computer. It cost the library $400. a year to put it on-line for us, but it is there. We've gotten another 80+ census films in since the latest census microfilm list was published, but progress has slowed since the price went up to $9.95 per reel. Reel by reel, we'll get there, it'll just take longer, since tax money is NOT paying for this--individual and foundation donations are. 18 states will have at least one or more counties complete through 1920 when the ordered films arrive. (Although Murphy's law of genealogy says that it probably won't be your county...) Karen

    3. Persons interested in Cass Co. NE. 1876-1882. I was informed by the Archivist in Plattsmouth, NE. about the census for Cass Co. 1876-1882 on microfilm. My family passed through there around this time; and because of her suggestion, I have been able to pinpoint their time in Plattsmouth. There is a census for each year contained in 9 rolls. I have been able to order these films from the Nebraska State Historical Society for a fee. The microfilm are: Roll 1 #19,808 1876 - Avoca Precinct thru 1876 - Plattsmouth city, page 115 Note: 8-Mile Pct. was filmed with the "M's" on this roll.     3. Hi, Yes, Valentine, Cherry County has a Historical Society there in Valentine. I've been there and they have quite a bit of information. Since it has been quite awhile since I was there I would not know what the hours are. I'm sure that others may have that information but if not the Nebraska Historical Society in Lincoln would have it I think. You could call information and get the phone number of the Society or maybe the Court House would have that information. I will be in Valentine, Cherry Co: In Mills & Carns, Keya Paha Co: In Butte, Spencer, and Naper in Boyd C: and maybe into Holt Co.: Can anyone tell me if these places have research facilities? Libraries? Genealogy Societies? Where is the court house for Keya Paha Co: What days of the week are these facilities open? What hours? Should I make contact ahead of my visit? if so who? Would like to spend my time researching and not waste any more time than necessary. Would appreciate any info anyone can give me. I sure need it.
