Depending on your requirements for information, Yahoo Maps is pretty good. Try this URL http://maps.yahoo.com/yahoo/. Diane I would recommend the Nebraska Atlas and Gazetteer by DeLorme I bought mine at the Nebraska Book Store in Lincoln. It is a very detailed map including topographic maps and covers the entire state. The index that I have only indexes by male surnames. When I get it transcribed and set up for the Altelope County page, it will be searchable by both bride and groom surnames. I am researching the Marshall Henry VanKirk family that lived at Davis Creek from 1890 until around 1908 (?) Marshall known as "Van", his wife Emily Esther Drew and their eight children lived in a sod house close to Davis Creek. One son Joseph VanKirk died September 1893 in a hunting accident at the age of 22 and is buried in Davis Creek Cemetery. My direct line to this family is through my Grandmother Ina Muriel VanKirk Abrahamzon. One of her sisters, Alice VanKirk married Mell Bowers in 1890 and they lived in the Davis Creek area at least in the mid 1920's. Marshall's family returned to Wisconsin the year of the McKinley/Bryan election. Would love to hear from anyone researching this family and/or the same area in the same time period. Robin, I checked the May 1998/1999 US West phone directory and found the following: No Frank ROBINSON. No Helma ROBINSON. There was one F. ROBINSON, 2194 Parker Cir., Omaha, NE 68110, (402) 346-2151 I also checked http://www.555-1212.com for them in Nebraska and found: Frank Robinson: 1 in Grand Island, 1 in Kearney, 1 in Kimball, 2 in Lincoln, and 1 in Oshkosh. No Helma Robinson. You might want to contact the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society (GOGS). They do lookups. The main branch of the Omaha Public Library has a considerable amount of genealogical materials. They could possibly check the city directories through the years (especially if you have an address available) and when they disappear from the city directory possibly locate newspaper obituaries if they died. I could be very wrong, but my father was great friends in the early 70's with Frank and Helen (not Helma) Robinson, here in Connecticut, both neurologists (or was Frank a neuro surgeon?) associated with Yale medical school and hospital. Dad did research at the Marine Biological Lab in Woods Hole, on Cape Cod, and one summer Dr. Robinson brough his boat up for a time. I remmeber Dad and my brother planning a sail with the Robinsons, and I was to go, but the weather was moisty and I let them have their fun with out me. Think this is the right Frank? Or perhaps, no?
