    2. Mary Myers
    3. Hi Bill and the List, I appreciate the information about Nebraska. I was born and raised in the two story farm home on the Burris ranch near Anselmo, Nebraska and attended the country school at New Helena until the seventh grade. My parents sold the Burris ranch as it wan in an estate belonging to all of the Burris brothers and sisters. We moved to Arizona. This was a move I never wanted to make. The fondest years of my life were spent in Nebraska and I dearly love to hear about Nebraska. I consider these my roots which are planted very deeply in my heart and constantly tear at my heart strings. The Burris Ranch was previously owned by Harve Andrews and he is the one from whom they purchased the ranch. My Mother was born in a sod house closer to Merna, Nebraska. The sod house no longer stands but the home place that replaced the sod house does and I visited and took pictures of this house in 1992 when I visited Nebraska. Many thanks for this list and I don't know why I didn't join this one sooner. I have a lot of clippings from the newspaper that my Mother saved about family and friends around Anselmo, Merna and some Broken Bow. My Great Uncle Fred Brechbuhl came to the USA from Switzerland. 2. Michalene Cardella
    3. To Barbara Pike Hruza, I tried sending this to your email address and it was not accepted so I am posting it to NE roots. I saw your message on NE roots list - and noticed you are a Pike. I am searching for some Pike ancestors. My gr gr grandmother, Rebecca Brown moved to NE from MI about 1865 or so. Her father is Daniel Brown and mother is, Fanny or Fannie Pike. Does this ring a bell? They were originally from NY, PA. Daniel and Fanny lived in Pine Grove, MI about 1867-1872. Let me know if you have any information. thanks Michalene Cardella

    3. Good Morning ListMembers, There has been an unusually larger number of subscribers to this list this past weekend, thus I'd like to welcome those Good Folk to this list. We are interested in Nebraska related genealogy here and welcome queries and requests on that topic. The list is moderated and stays pretty close to "topic". An occasional post might be tolerated so long as it is in good taste. Should you need to contact me concerning a problem post, please do so privately at wnoliver@worldnet.att.net. Due to the term "Roll Call" meaning more than one thing, if you wish to post your Nebraska research SURNAMES it would be less confusing to some of us if the term "Most Wanted" were used. Thank you. My MOST WANTED is REIMAN, Karl and Klementina, arrived in Nuckolls county in January 1880 from Switzerland. Enjoy, Bill ListOwner --

Various info is included, but usually parents, children and ages, and often legal description to their residence. Check first for a County Superintendent's office at the courthouse. Many counties are doing away with Supt's, and the records are going various places. I've seen them with the Register of Deeds in one county, and with the Sheriff in another. Kathy

Eva was born in Juanita, Nebraska before 1912 and died in St. Francis, Cheyenne Co, Kansas. Eva married George Haskel King. In addition, does anyone know if Juanita is in Adams County? And do you have any suggestions for other Nebraska lists that would apply to the above names. Thankyou in advance.

    3. I have the 1883 homestead proof of my ggf's homestead in Sherman County, NE. He and both witnesses state that their post office address in Sherman County is either FARRIS or PARRIS. The homestead was in Section 28. I know for a fact that one of the witnesses lived next to him in the same section. Thanks. John Fiala
