    3. You were right, Shirley. First two children belonged to Addie and her first husband, James to Addie and her second husand. Only the two girls at the end were Annables. Thank you so very much. Whether that's true or not may be hard to tell. I had a similar situation in my family when a widow with son married a widower with one son. The census showed them having the same last name, but I know each one grew up with his birth father's last name.
