Because of wounds received at Gettysburg he was unable to do so and moved to Carleton, Thayer county where he died in 1888. If there was a state census in 1885, I would like to know where he was at that time. His wife Sarah Eleanor THOMPSON returned to PA after his death but may have been in NE for the 1890 U.S. census. (age 46, born in Massachusetts; working as an Engineer for the Railroad.) was living in Sterling, Logan County, Colorado during the 1920 US Census. They were living on 522 N. 5th St in Sterling, Colorado. He had Nettie M.
