What I'm looking for is my Grandfather George Erfle (M) Rose Reidlinger about the 1898 or 1903 area. She died and is buried in the Fesseden area. Are there many Protesent Cemeteries in that area? If you have any knowledge of the cemeteries of that area. If not just disregard this message.I live in Vanciouver B.C.

I have completed somewhat of an index for the 1900 Wells county census. If you would like a name looked up, please email me off the list. It will at least provide you with an image file and line number instead of scrolling through all the images. Cindy

I already have the book for my research and have talked with Tony a few times already. Some of the info in the book is a bit off, but I have sent him the correct dates for the surnames in my family. I too am from Hutterite heritage and was raised as such only off the colony. A lot of the research in that book is also in Hutterite Mennonites and the Hutterite Brethren books I have here as well. I am just looking to go back a bit further then the books go at this time. This is a project that I have been working on for a number of years now so I know it takes time to find what you are looking for. Thanks again.

You can email me if you like, this is my mother's heritage and very important to me.

In the book "Growing with Pride" history of Harvey, ND page 754: Mr. and Mrs. Christian Stein emigrated from Germany to Eureka, So. Dak., in 1889, they homesteaded one mile south of Harvey in Western Township. They raised a family of ten children. The farm is still owned by members of the family. Not much of a history but with the location of the homestead you may be able to find descendants. Mary: I searched my Wells County Atlas and came up with the following data regarding - Rogness (or derivative spelling - most notable is the 1974 data): 1880 Wells Atlas: Andrew J. Rogenes, Farmer, P.O. Manfred, born in Norway in 1874, settled in Wells County in 1904. Married to Leva Birg, they have seven children. Mr. Rogenes serves as Constable. B. E. Rogne, P.O. Manfred, born in Norway in 1861, settled in Wells County in 1894. Married to Carrie Nyhagen; they have two children. 1974 Wells County Atlas: Elvin Rogness, Rt. 1, Chaseley, -0- 35-DE-1 Jacob Rogness, Rt. 1, Manfred, -0- 26-FR-2 John Rogness, Rt. 1, Manfred -0- Lives in town of Manfred Thor Rogness, Rt. 1, Fessenden, -RO- 17-WR-1 There is an option to have family information included in the back of the Atlas's. There is a charge for this and unfortunately, there is no family data on the Rogness's listed in the 1974 Wells County Atlas. There is a lady in Fessenden (very near by to Manfred and Chaseley that does genealogical searches through the Court House). I grew up in Wells County, by the way. I am looking the possible churches they may have attended..... Christina
