He was in the Japan Signal Battalion honor guard. Our unit was Headquarters Company 8047th Army Unit stationed at Camp Fuchinobe. Going back fifty years I remember he came from Pennsylvania. I am a contact person for the Japan Signal Battalion 8047th AU and have about a dozen contacts around the country from our unit. I also have a photo of Sauter cleaning his honor guard rifle.
