Dear fellow coordinators for North Dakota: It seems that the political season brings out the worst in some folks. Some folks seemingly don't have enough to do so they must put down other folks efforts. Today I received two emails from persons who have a personal axe to grind with me who are trying to do so, while talking about the quality, quantity and freshness of our sites in North Dakota. The first is the new SC of Iowa - "Gail Meyer Kilgore" <gkilgore@globalcrossing.net> - whose state is embroiled in controversy for their state project has a page that is soliciting funds for their state project which is against our National Bylaws. However, since the current NC also hails from IAGenWeb - it seems perfectly ok by him. The second person bad mouthing our Project is a person who has most likely made money off the project as he posts his URL with some frequency as he copies and sells wills and other court documents to folks around the country - "W. David Samuelsen" <dsam@sampubco.com> These two folks complain that some sites don't have a recently updated last date on their main page. I took a look at about half the state this afternoon and saw without exception beautifully designed sites with a clean, clear, crisp look and feel - some have more data than others but that is to be expected. >From the last time I sent mail to the state list - no one's email was bouncing save Joe's. Joe is still settling in from his move New York to Minnesota. So if I may ask of each of you, please take a look at your front page - and if you've done any work on it or your site recently, please change your last updated date to when that took place. Also please make sure the email address you show on your site - and the one on this list are the same - if you wish them to be the same. Please send any corrections to Lee or myself. Also feel free to let these folks know what you think of their actions with regard to us and your work. I personally don't mind folks asking questions about a site - but to castigate every volunteer in the State Project - I find repugnant. Tim
